Hellenic Navy, 2nd Helicopter Squadron has 11 S70 helicopters (8 S70B6 with analog cockpit and 3 S70B with glass cockpit).
The S70 helicopter is built by Sikorsky, has two engines, a four blade main rotor, an auxiliary power unit (APU), Dipping Sonar, ESM, Radar, FLIR, engine and blade deice system, Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS), HIFR, RAST and all necessary equipment for IFR flying. The weapons package include up to 3 ΜΚ46 mod1/2/5 torpedoes, 1 Penguin anti-ship missile and 4 Hellfire Air-to-ground missiles.
Main missions for the S70 are antisurface warfare (ASuW), antisubmarine warfare (ASW) and surface surveillance. Secondary missions include SAR, MEDEVAC, VERTREP and SPECIAL OPERATIONS.
Since 1995, the Hellenic Navy has flown over 35,000 accident free flight hours and the Hellenic Navy Helicopters 2nd Squadron has been awarded safety milestone awards and search and rescue awards (more than 300 lives saved).
The Hellenic Navy S-70 helicopters are a special variation of USN SH-60 Sea Hawk helicopters, with the code name Aegean Hawk.

The emblem brings as main symbol the falcon that is brave and proud bird with characteristically the fieriness and exceptional sight. The falcon is represented with Eastern orientation in nightly environment, symbolizing the faculty of H/P S70 to operate at night. The faculty of sight is symbolized with the reflection in the point of eye in form of cross. The three stars correspond in the three types of H/P. The four white ripples shape nine bands correspondingly in the nine bands of the Greek Flag. The emblem includes side aspect G/M PENGUIN and it is supplemented with film where is entered the name of the Squadron.
