| MAIN BUILDING (COMMAND UNIT) |

The main building is a two-story stone built structure constructed in 1846 and intended to be the summer palace of King Otto. All services and Officers’ quarters of MTC Poros are housed nowadays. |
The medical unit provides health care to permanent personnel and trainees. In case of emergency, it provides first aid care and treats locals. The following departments can be found:
• Emergency response
• Dental care
• X-ray laboratory
• Pharmacy
• Care room (15 beds)
• Psychological support

| SAINT NICOLAS CHURCH |

The Camp church is a triple arch basilic and is dedicated to the guardian of the Hellenic Navy Saint Nicolas, Saint Modest Archbishop of Jerusalem and Neomartyr Saint Constantine from Hydra. It was built in 1898 within the first Naval Base of the Greek State . Officers, Petty Officers and Sailors constructed it. It is a holy sight and offers spiritual guidance to those who serve the Hellenic Navy. During training, ceremonies are held regularly for all trainees. |

‘‘ISLE'' BUILDING |

Alexander KOLVE (1793 - 1860). He was born in Berlin and served as an Officer in the Prussian Army. Right after the battle of Waterloo , he came to Greece influenced by the determination of the Greek and joined passionately the cause, offering his economic and technical knowledge. He died in 1860 in Poros; his grave is located in the Camp. The picture shows the monument built in his honor.

Frank HASTING (1794 – 1828). Son of an English noble, he served from the age of 14 in the Royal Navy and affected by the passion of the Greeks for liberation he came to our country in March of 1822 and served as Commander of the battleship “KARTERIA” and participated in different battles against the Turks, where he was wounded at Etoliko in Messollogi and died early at the age of 34. His grave was initially in the Island of Egina and in 1829 his ashes were moved to Poros and the monument (picture) built in his honor. |
