Vice Admiral Konstantinos Karageorgis HN

Vice Admiral Konstantinos Karageorgis H.N. was born on February 23, 1962 in Athens. He joined the Hellenic Navy Naval Academy in 1979 and graduated in 1983, as an Ensign. He specialized as a Weapons officer.


He was promoted to:
Lieutenant Junior Grade in 1986
Lieutenant in 1990
Lieutenant Commander in 1995
Commander in 2000
Captain in 2008
Commodore in 2012
Rear Admiral in 2014
Vice Admiral in 2015


At Sea, he served in various ships of the Hellenic Fleet. He commanded HS PANAGOPOULOS III, HS POLEMISTIS, HS STARAKIS, HS SALAMIS and HS NIKIFOROS FVKAS.

His staff assignments include: director of CIS Department A’ Branch and HRM Department B’ Branch at Hellenic General Staff, director of Crisis Management Center at Hellenic National Defence General Staff.

He also served as Naval Attaché in Paris (France), Commander of the Fast Patrol Boats Command, deputy Commander of the Hellenic Naval Academy and the Hellenic Navy Logistic Support Command, and Commander of the Naval Training Command.  

He holds master’s degrees in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government (Harvard), and International Affairs and Policy of the Centre d’Etudes Strategiques et Diplomatiques (CEDS).

He is also a graduate of the Hellenic Naval War College and Hellenic National Defense College. He is the recipient of Decorations and Medals respective to his rank.


He is married and has two children.
